Springfield Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania

Springfield Township is a township in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 3,111 at the 2000 census. The Connellsville Area School District serves the township.
Normalville, Mill Run, Rogers Mill, and Pleasant Hill are villages that are located here.
==Geography==
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of , of which, 59.8 mi2 (155.0 km2) of it is land and 0.2 mi2 (0.6 km²) of it (0.37%) covered by water. The village of Normalville (which is part of Springfield Twp.) was originally named Elm. In the late 1800s, a Normal Teaching School was built close to the site of the present-day Springfield Elementary school. Following the building of the Teacher School, the town was renamed Normalville.
